LIFE KITCHEN
2022

Life Kitchen was a proposal for a re-brand of an existing charity organisation. Life Kitchen provides free cooking lessons and cookbooks to those suffering from taste and smell loss as a result of chemotherapy and covid. The founder of the company, Ryan Riley, is a well know TV chef and wanted to reinvigorate the Life Kitchen brand to better represent him and his values. The brief asked for a visual identity that was modern and friendly while still feeling expensive and prestigious. Life Kitchen discuss 5 elements they use in recipes to add interest to food if you suffer from taste or smell impairment: aroma, trigeminal taste sensations, texture, layering and umami. The mark designed for the re-brand featured 5 icons that represented a different taste element. These icons could be shown grouped together or separated, and formed the visual language for the re-brand.
